About Us

Meet Our Family!

Sandhill Yarns was born in 2024 out of a YouTube rabbit hole on hand dyeing yarn. Isabel found herself very interested in the process, and wasted no time diving right in. She spent all of 2024 learning the ins and outs of the dyeing process, and in the summer of 2025 launched from hobbyist to business owner.

Her husband, Nick, is responsible for managing the non-yarn side of the business. From the tech to the taxes, he makes sure business is running smoothly.

Their children, Naya and Asher, test every skein for proper squish.

What is your plan to scale?

We now have a public roadmap! Check out our roadmap page to see how we’ve grown since starting our business, and what milestones we’re aiming for.

We purchase all of our yarns from Wool2Dye4, a manufacturer and distributer of undyed yarn based in Virginia USA.

Yes! It is very important that our fibers are sourced from the best possible places, where animals and workers are treated well. To learn more, visit www.wool2dye4.com

We currently get all of our dyes from the lovely people over at Dharma Trading Co

We don’t anymore, but we used to! Some of our older products have an Ai generated reference image. We also use images from unsplash.com and the occasional commissioned artist. We enjoy seeing the colors of the yarn abstracted into a different form.

We do! Our designer budget is very limited, since we are reinvesting all of our profits back into more supplies, however we love supporting great people. If you’re interested in working with us, send us a message and we’d love to get connected!
