Batch 51
This week we're talking about the best tips and tricks you can use to get the yarn you want. After a year of running drops, we've seen a lot of really creative strategies, and we wanted to share some of them with you all! So without further ado, here are the 3 best tips for securing yarn at drop:
- Set an alarm for 3:55 pm CST. This might seem a little redundant since we send out text reminders, but let me explain. We currently have almost 10,000 people on our text notification list, and we can only text 12 people / second. It takes us ~20 minutes to text everyone on our list, which makes your notification somewhat inconsistent. Also, some of our text messages go to spam! (*gasp* heaven forbid...) By setting an alarm for 5 minutes before drop, you can make sure you have enough time to scope out the yarn that you want, and be ready to buy when the clock strikes 4:00. We are working to improve our texting speed, but in the meantime an alarm is a great workaround.
- Place multiple orders. This one might shock you, but many of our regular customers place up to 5 separate orders every week. The key here is to buy one colorway at a time, and then go back to place another order of a separate colorway, prioritizing your favorite yarns first. By doing it this way, you can "lock in" your favorite yarns, since items in your cart are not reserved. The reason this works particularly well, is because we will always combine your orders together and issue a refund for any excess shipping you paid for. We're not out here trying to punish you for your efforts, in fact, quite the opposite. We're here to give you the best deal possible on hand dyed yarn, and paying for extra shipping would be completely counter productive to that goal. For now we are manually combining and refunding, but hopefully in the future we find an automated solution.
- Use Shop Pay. This is arguably the most important one, as it allows for you to save all of your payment information before drop. Then, at checkout, its a one click purchase without any confirmation codes. To register (or update) your payment information with Shop Pay, click here. Batch 51 Overview
For batch 51, we will have another 1,500 skeins available in 5 colorways! Each colorway will have 100 Sock, 150 DK & 50 Bulky. We've noticed that Bulky weight is less popular right now, probably due to the summer heat, so we've shifted our numbers in favor of more sock weight! Let us know if you like this change.
If you've been with us for awhile, you'll recognize Blushing Tulip and Riverside as return colorways. New to our growing recipe collection are:
- Main Character Energy - Vivid. Saturated. Unforgettable. Main Character Energy captures the electric intensity of a magenta that shifts between fuchsia and deep violet.
- Patchwork Pup - What started as a tonal grey cold-processed overnight, turned into something unexpected. A second pass of deep charcoal transformed this skein into a richly saturated, moody colorway with striking depth and contrast.
- Mudslide - Dark chocolate and warm espresso rush through the yarn in a colliding Mudslide! A colorway born from letting the dyes find their own path.
