Care Instructions
All of our yarns are Superwash merino wool, meaning you can use a washing machine with cold water on a gentle setting. If you want to lean on the safer, you can wash by hand instead.
- Washing: Wash in cold water on a delicate / gentle cycle. If washing by hand, use a bit of Dawn dish soap. Dawn is what we use to wash the yarn before it gets to you, and works really well if washing by hand.
-
Rinsing: Once washed, gently squeeze out the excess water—do not wring or twist the yarn, as this can damage the fibers. Instead, carefully press (squeezing motion) the water out.
- Drying (80%): To get the bulk of the water out, lay the item flat between 2 towels and press them together. Repeat this until you have removed the majority of water from the item. In house we use Panda Spin Dryers for this step, so if you have one of those by chance, you can use that as well.
- Drying (100%): Once 80% of the moisture is absorbed by the towels (or spin dryer), lay your item flat to dry. Make sure to spread it out on a clean, dry surface. Avoid hanging it up, as this can stretch the fibers.
It is important to avoid hot water, as this could cause your yarn to bleed. It shouldn't. We do everything we can to set the dye in the yarn using citric acid & long cook times, but cold water is the safer route.
