The Arcadian Wild · Sandhill Yarns

Five colorways inspired by Make It Out Alive

We're Sandhill Yarns, a family-run, hand-dyed yarn company in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Arcadian Wild is a folk trio from Nashville known for gorgeous three-part harmonies and a sound that blends folk and bluegrass.

While looking for yarn made close to Nashville, Isaac found Sandhill Yarns, ordered eight skeins immediately, and later asked if we wanted to collaborate for their band's newest album, Make It Out Alive.

We said yes. And this page is what we came up with! Feel free to watch the podcast episode and explore the collection below.

Batch 69 Preview

For batch 69 we are releasing our Arcadian Wild collection! The Arcadian Wild is a Nashville folk trio known for gorgeous harmonies, and their newest album, Make It Out Alive, came out this August. Isabel has had it on repeat ever since. What you might not know is that Isaac Horn, the band's guitarist and one of its singer-songwriters, is also a crocheter, and that's how we got connected! He's been making everything from socks to sweaters with our yarn, so dyeing a collection for the new album felt like the perfect fit.

Each of the five colorways is named after a song from the record: Make It Out Alive, Spinnin', Edge of the Ozarks, The Carpenter, and Comes Around Again. Some follow the colors in the lyrics, while others capture how the song feels.

Isaac saw the collection for the very first time on our podcast, where he tried to match each skein to its song. (He got one right!) Then he and Isabel talked through the story behind every colorway. You can watch the whole episode on YouTube by clicking here:

Click on each colorway to view its full gallery and product description, where you'll also find a link to the exact moment in the podcast where we talk about that colorway!
